I feel the need to express myself in the arts. Being an artist allows me to
communicate my thoughts and feelings. I like the feel of the paint and use a
variety of materials in creating my work. I use brushes, found objects, paper
and even my feet.
Recently, with the war in Iraq I was upset and furious. I lost my temper, not
being able to share my feelings. I used the paint on my shoes and walked all
over the paintings I was creating. Little did I know that I would enjoy the
process and even I was surprised and thrilled with the outcome of the work.
I love color. I respond to color. Forme, color can be peaceful as well as exciting.
Color is very stimulating to me and I find that I react first by using colors
that correlate to how I'm feeling.
Artists such as Van Gogh, Gauguin, Picasso, Pollack, Hockney and Wadl inspire
me.
I hope others will enjoy my work as well.
